Kristen Stout

Kristen Stout has always had a true love for dancing.  Born in Bakersfield, California she began dancing at the age of 8 at the Bakersfield Civic Dance Center, under the instruction of the studio director and owner Cindy Trueblood.  For seven years, Kristen performed in the annual Nutcracker production that is still a collaborative effort between the Bakersfield Dance Center and the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra.  Kristen enjoyed performing the roles of Soldier, Party Guest, Snow Maiden, Waltz of the Flowers, Spanish, Russian, Mother Ginger, and many others.  At 16, her family moved to the California Central Coast where she danced with the Class Act Dance Studio in Paso Robles.  (This is the same studio where Jesus Solorio from "So You Think You Can Dance" came from!)  At Class Act, Kristen performed and choreographed for the competitive dance group, taught classes, performed at numerous community benefits and events, and led the Summer Ballet Intensive Summer Camp.
Kristen attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and performed and choreographed for Cal Poly's Orchesis Dance Company.  She was able to travel with the dance company to L.A., San Francisco, Oakland, Santa Barbara, and Whittier to take from various instructors and choreographers known and respected on the Central Coast.   After graduating from Cal Poly with a B.A. in Political Science, Kristen moved to Las Vegas with her husband, Dan, where she was employed at the City of Las Vegas for over six years.  She also received a Masters of Public Administration from UNLV during this time as well.
Over her life time, Kristen has had the wonderful opportunity to take and perform for various choreographers, which include:  Dennon and Sayhber Rawles, Roland Dupree, Alan Sherfield, Stephanie Powell, Marnie Coughlin, Maria Junco, Moon Ja Mihn Suhr, and many others.  She has also received various awards for her dancing, including a scholarship to study at the Tremaine Dance Studio.  She has also choreographed for various benefits, recitals, and productions throughout her dance career.
When not teaching or dancing, Kristen is kept very busy by being very active with her three children, Michael, Meganne, and Joshua.  Since she is very interested in the well-being of all children, she has become an active member and leader of the PTA, by serving as Secretary and now President of the PTA unit at her children's school as well as being an officer on the Lake Mead Council of the Nevada State PTA.  In addition, since her husband is fire captain with the Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, she volunteers her time (when it permits) with the Nevada Fire Fighter Wives Association.  Her hobbies include reading, volunteering, listening to music, and of course, dancing.
